Travel with a cause to Thailand

Currently, our work consists of supporting the construction of a sustainable center that aims to serve more than 7 rural communities in its surroundings by providing tools for organic agriculture, biogardens and reforestation of the area. The objective of this project is to become an example for neighboring communities and promote a sustainable, conscious lifestyle in tune with the environment.

Enjoy the temples, the food, the beaches and everything that Thailand has to offer! This volunteering will allow you to enter a town near Chiang Mai. There our local allies have worked since 1994 for the development of the surrounding communities, originally for HIV and addiction awareness, however over the years, they have added projects to serve the communities in the area. Finishing the volunteering we will get to know the best of Chiang Mai and Bangkok, we will bathe elephants, visit temples, eat street food and more.

Nuestro Itinerario

Let the adventure begin! Welcome to Southeast Asia, one of the regions in the world most full of culture, contrasts and landscapes. You will land at Chiang Mai airport in northern Thailand to begin your trip. We will meet the entire group right there to move to the volunteer community in Chiang Dao where they will welcome us and we will settle into our respective rooms. It will be a long journey but perfect to integrate and rest before the adventure that awaits us.

During these 2 days of volunteering, you will explore the jungle of Thailand while you learn about construction, environment, agroecology and live with a beautiful Thai family who will open the doors of their home to you and teach you about their culture.

Time to say goodbye to the community and continue with the adventure! Early at 6:00 am we will transfer from Chiang Dao to Chiang Mai. We are going to settle in the hostel rooms and go out to explore "The Roof of Thailand". Doi Inthanon is the highest point in Thailand at 2,565 meters above sea level. This national park is one of the best in northern Thailand for its great diversity of forest types. We will also visit the Twin Pagodas, the Hmong Market and the Wachirathan waterfall.

Hostel Accommodation in Chiang Mai (shared rooms)

Today you will visit a beautiful Elephant Sanctuary! Pick up at the hotel at 7:30 am and we will make a one-hour transfer to the sanctuary. There will be a crash course in elephant treatment and then you will be able to prepare healthy food and treats for the elephants, feed them and play with them. At the end, we will have a delicious traditional Thai buffet lunch, suitable for vegetarians. After the experience, we will return to Chiang Mai around noon to have the afternoon free to enjoy a good local restaurant.

We will take a full day tour leaving from Chiang Mai to the city of Chiang Rai. We will visit the spectacular White Temple; one of the most impressive places in Thailand. We can also visit the Blue Temple and we will continue with the Golden Triangle where we will observe the border of Thailand with Laos and Burma from a viewpoint. We'll stop for lunch before visiting the Opium Museum and enjoy a longboat ride down the stunning Mekong River.

We will transfer to the airport to take our flight to our next destination. Welcome to the largest and most historic city in all of Thailand! Welcome to Bangkok, after a 1 and a half hour flight, we land at noon in the city, we will move to our accommodation to check-in and we will have free hours to start exploring this city. You can decide between taking a half-day tour to the floating market or exploring corners of the city such as Wat Traimit, Wang Na Palace, Chatuchak Market or visiting Lumpini Park. At night it will be time to discover Khaosan Road, characterized as the best party place in all of Thailand and we will enjoy walking through a street full of local food and nightlife.

Tour the best spots in the city. This day we will be able to visit Wat Po, which is especially known as the great Reclining Buddha, a figure 46 meters long and 15 meters high. We will also visit Wat Arun, one of the main Buddhist temples. We will finish walking through the Grand Royal Palace of Bangkok, one of the obligatory stops when you are getting to know the capital of Thailand. Its architecture is spectacular and it is one of the symbols of the country, it is the most important temple. You will have the afternoon free to finish exploring what interests you most in Bangkok.

How can I be part?

By pressing the APPLY button, a form will open in which we will ask you some questions to find out if you have the ideal profile to join this trip. For us, the group is extremely important, which is why we take this seriously. We recommend that you take the time necessary to fill it out and explain to us in detail your motivations and why you want to be part of this unique experience.

Among all the requests, our specialized team will create a small group. After confirming the payment of the section you will secure your place.

From this moment on, our team will help you at all times with prior preparation. What are the best flights, what to bring in your backpack and all the doubts that may arise prior to the trip.

To apply for any of the projects you must click on the “Apply Now” button where you will fill out a question form and specify which project you want to go to and on what date.

A person from our team will receive your application and will contact you within no more than 2 days. As part of the process, you will be asked some questions to see the relevance of your application to the selected project in addition to answering your questions. Once this is done, you will be able to make the section for your place if you have been accepted to the project.

Once accepted to the program, you will be shared a link where you can make your deposit of $150 USD that is part of your final package, then the remainder is divided into 3 equal payments to be settled in the following scheme:

Cash payments are not accepted and your package must be settled no later than one month before your trip.

You will be responsible for purchasing your flights, however you will receive support and guidance from your experience coordinator to do so once the section is completed. The arrival airport and a recommended route will be provided once you are part of the group.

*Important: If you decide to fly days before or leave after the established dates of your project, TWC is NOT responsible for your stay or any extra expenses incurred, or activities that are not carried out due to late arrival.

Experience coordinator: This is the person who will follow you remotely before your trip, guide you in searching for flights, visas, vaccines and travel preparations.

Ambassador: This person will accompany you in person during your package. He is the leader of the group and will coordinate all activities

Guides: Generally, they are the experts of the destination who will tell us about each of the places visited on the guided tours.

Allies: They are the people in charge of the social project for the community we will assist.

Travelers: These are the other travelers who sign up for your same project and on the same date. With them you will live your experience and form great bonds of friendship.

Travelers With Cause is a social company registered since January 2018. We mobilize more than 1,000 travelers a year and we have registration with the Secretary of Tourism in Mexico. You will also be accompanied throughout your entire process from the moment you apply for one of our programs. until you come back from it.

We do not travel to countries with political or social instability, or places that may be dangerous in certain ways. The safety of our travelers is a priority.

It is important that you know that it is mandatory to travel with travel insurance since this will be of great support in case of any contingency. We will be able to support you later in your process so that you can get one that fits your needs.
